"you is a mysterious thing"
The notion of you is
a mysterious thing
and so are you
except, of course, when your
globe
folds me in and holds
me inside its lines and stitches,
folds me in and holds
me inside its lines and stitches,
its weight and contour and spinning
I know you then
the way I know
the way I know
our universe:
faintly, like a distant planet
yet
pulsing and fully in that rhythm,
pulsing and fully in that rhythm,
our orbit
at times, I feel everything:
others, I find it nothing short of
miracle
that you,
in all your immense and forever you,
would moment with me unceasing
would share space
that you,
in all your immense and forever you,
would moment with me unceasing
would share space
would wait with me
in my moment that is now
ours
in my moment that is now
ours
spinning
I love this! Are there more?
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that :) I have been writing poetry sporadically since I was pretty young, but lately I've been making a more concerted effort to build up a portfolio of sorts. It sounds like it might be worthwhile to post more poems on here! In the meantime, you can find a few odds and ends in my Facebook notes.
DeleteThe poem I was working on just prior to this ended up being part of a little experimental music collaboration (http://ampers.bandcamp.com/). I also recently wrote text for an original Christmas carol. It's fun (and ultimately imperative) to think of poetry musically, so those have been good opportunities for me.
